The Situation

The Situation

A Consulting Business owner faced an all too common challenge.  Customers were reluctant to pay for extra design work incurred after the contract was finalized and signed.  The Business owner failed to recover a significant portion of compensation for added work, wasted time and created conflict with client trying to collect funds. The result was lost client trust, jeopardizing future contracts, and a sense of frustration that jeopardized the long-term future of the company.

By focusing on client’s success to obtain the original contract, coach and client discovered the strengths and applied them in co-creating new strategy and procedure to formalize the change order process including a formal proposal, client’ s approval, and amendment to the contract.  All paperwork was designed to be completed with a pre-populated template that also captured signatures from both parties. The business owner was able to double the revenue on change order, saving time and feeling fulfilled. Clients felt respected and valued. They were able to effectively and accurately make changes, improved communications, more responsive and satisfied to go forward with future contracts. Win-win situation.
